Splendour of Spring at the Fairmont Royal York (2026)
Each spring, the lobby of the Fairmont Royal York is transformed by a seasonal installation—part of an ongoing tradition that marks the shift out of winter in downtown Toronto.
This year’s display, titled Splendour of Spring, centres around a sculptural cherry blossom tree rising through the middle of the historic lobby. Soft pinks and layered florals contrast with the building’s warm stone, wood ceilings, and Art Deco details, creating a moment that feels both seasonal and rooted in place.
Installed beneath the clock and framed by the hotel’s grand symmetry, the piece invites movement—guests circling, pausing, and looking up. These images document both the scale of the installation and the smaller details that emerge within it.
