Students Rally at Queen’s Park Over OSAP and Education Funding

Students speak to a crowd during a rally about OSAP student funding, standing on the base of a monument with a megaphone as protesters hold signs and flags, including one reading “Education Is a Right.”

While walking through Queen's Park this afternoon, I came across a student rally calling attention to changes to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) and broader concerns about education funding.

Students and supporters gathered outside the legislature holding signs with messages about tuition costs, student debt, and the importance of accessible education. Some had travelled from other Ontario cities, including Guelph, to take part in the demonstration.

With my camera already in my bag, I spent some time documenting the rally — the signs, speakers, and moments between protesters that captured the energy of the afternoon.
